At BTC, you’ll first complete pre-program general education courses, followed by six quarters of specialized study to earn one of these HVAC and Refrigeration degrees:
- Associate of Applied Science—Transfer Degree (136 credits)
- Associate of Applied Science Degree (131 credits)
In two years, you can be well-positioned for high-wage employment as a technician for private heating, air conditioning, or refrigeration service companies. Opportunities also are available to work for heating and air conditioning dealers, manufacturing companies, food processors, hotels, school systems, or industrial processing plants, and in self-employment.
Potential positions include heating and air conditioning technician, heating and air conditioning service person, heating and air conditioning installer, contractor, estimator, food industry mechanic, or gasfitter.
- About 85 percent of BTC HVAC and Refrigeration students are employed within nine months of graduation.
- The average annual wage in this field is $53,529, with an earning potential of about $67,142 per year.
